Introduction:

The Westinghouse WH2200iXLT is a reliable source of backup power for your home during a power outage, while simultaneously powering most large refrigerators and appliances, such as ovens and sump pumps. Powered by a 79cc 4-stroke Westinghouse OHV engine,

The WH2200iXLT gas inverter generator produces 2,200 peak watts and 1,800 running watts and generates power from two 120-volt household outlets and one 12-volt DC outlet. Weighing in at just 43 lbs and with a built-in carry handle, it's handy and portable, making it perfect for camping, hiking, and other recreational activities.

Get rating:

I've only had it for a day, but so far I love Westinghouse WH2200iXLT.

I was trying to replace a Ryobi 2200 inverter generator that I thought was faulty.

However, the problem turned out to be just a spark plug, so now I have 2 great generators.

The first thing I notice is that it is much more "elegant" than the Ryobi. Everything is well put together with beautiful flowing lines. It is certainly aesthetically pleasing.

I thought it would be noticeably smaller as it had a single handle where the Ryobi had two and wheels, but they are quite identical in size. It's bulky to carry with one hand, but it's definitely not too heavy.

The WH2200 contained oil, a small funnel, which I assume was the spark plug cap, and a screwdriver.

Opened the access to the oil, filled it with 400ml, topped up with petrol, turn the gas tank and turn the knobs, pull out the choke, pull 1 time and we are generating.

I immediately plugged in the circular saw (13 amps) and the 10'' miter saw to make sure they would work (as Ryobi turned them on with no problem).

They ran well, of course not at the same time.

The main reason I love them is that they are so quiet. Westinghouse was no different. I think it was a little quieter than the Ryobi at rest, but the Ryobi seems a little quieter under full load. They are both quite acceptable to be around during a conversation.

I expect the gas to drink even slower than the Ryobi, but a full night (9 hours) on a small load (400 watts or so) shouldn't be an issue anyway.

It is the new toy of the two, but if they were both new now, I would still choose the WH. Easy to carry with one hand. Very. Incredibly easy to get started. So quiet, if not more. And $100 cheaper.

I wish I had a Honda but I can't justify the price when there are equal options for half the cost. The Westinghouse looks fantastic, I bet you will be pleased.
