Briggs & Stratton 30795 P4500 Generator Great Genset, never let us down, used almost 50 hours, and used for a year. I replaced the RV lame connector with a 30a twist lock to make it safer for marine use. You don't have many break-in instructions, but the first oil change upfront is important to get some of the manufacturing waste out of the oil pan.

I recommend changing it twice in the first 5 hours. After that everything is smooth sailing. The super clean unit even after living outside on my boat deck for over a year. Idling with no load immediately after start-up sounds a bit louder than a Honda, but the performance is the same. Handle our 30A outlet without hesitation, it can use microwave and 16,000 BTU of sea air at the same time.

I never thought that would be possible, killing our 3kw Onan ship generator, which was much less safe and was actually almost louder than the one on deck. Excellent performance at less than half the cost of a lower specification naval unit. Occasionally the CO sensor will trip and turn off the generator when the wind slows down and the exhaust from my main engine folds back into the hood, but that's rare, and a condition I like to be aware of. A nice safety feature, guys.

Overview:

The updated design gives the Briggs & Stratton P4500 a refreshing, modern look and is incredibly portable. It's quite similar to others in the PowerSmart series with a few tweaks and some extra technology.

What makes the P4500 special?

Designed with RV owners in mind, this inverter is suitable for a wide variety of applications and promises great things for homeowners looking for extra power. The main feature of the P4500 is the built-in carbon monoxide monitoring system, which tracks CO levels and automatically shuts down the generator if CO levels are high.

Conclusion:

The Briggs & Stratton P4500 meets most requirements for a silent camp generator. As with any Briggs & Stratton generator, this one is very reasonably priced when compared to comparable offerings from well-known generator brands.

The new CO Guard technology is definitely a breakthrough in generator safety and I'm sure many will appreciate it. I think most would agree that Briggs & Stratton's after-sales service can be compared with the best and this model comes with a 3-year residential warranty (1 year for commercial use).
